The MRI-4070 SLC Short Circuit Isolator Module is designed to be used with a compatible fire alarm control unit. The Isolator Module allows part of the communication loop to continue operating when a short circuit occurs on it. An LED indicator blinks in the normal condition and illuminates steadily during a short circuit condition. Only the LEDs on the devices next to the short illuminate steady for easy identification of a faulty SLC section. The module will automatically restore the entire communication loop to the normal condition when the short circuit is removed. This is a hardware only device and does not require an address. There are no limits to the number of MRI-4070 devices installed on the SLC as long as the total loop current limit is respected.
