iSTAR Edge G2 is a powerful, cyber-hardened IP edge access control device that provides reliable, stand-alone physical access control for up to four doors. Its optional Power over Ethernet (PoE) module provides ample power for two doors and allows iSTAR Edge G2 to leverage existing network infrastructure to reduce installation costs. Overall system reliability is increased by the iSTAR Edge G2 by providing localized decision-making at each door. The controller has a robust local cardholder database of over 1,000,000 personnel records and local alarm and event buffering in the event communication to the host is unavailable. iSTAR Edge G2 has been designed to drastically lower installation and startup costs.
