The tips on the DSX-PLA004 and DSX-PLA804 Permanent Link adapters used by the DSX CableAnalyzer are field replaceable. If the tips are worn and exhibit persistent open pins on wiremap during testing, replacing the tips is a much less expensive option than replacing the entire DSX-PLA004S or DSX-PLA804S (Permanent Link Adapter Set).
