When a DMP panel is used to take over an existing non-DMP alarm panel, the 1158 can replace up to eight zones from the old system. This allows the new DMP panel to communicate with existing zones

No need to change or add EOL resistors on normally closed contacts
User-replaceable 3 V lithium CR123 batteries (1154 only) or external power
